Hydrostatic pressure meaning (what is it, concept and definition)

What is Hydrostatic pressure:

In fluid mechanics, hydrostatic pressure is that which a fluid at rest generates by its own weight.

Hydrostatic pressure does not depend on the mass, weight or total volume of the fluid, but on the density of the fluid (p), the acceleration due to gravity (g) and the depth of the fluid (h). Hydrostatic pressure is therefore calculated from the following formula:

Along with the hydrostatic pressure, there is also a parallel atmospheric pressure, which is what the atmosphere exerts on the fluid.

Hydrostatic pressure is the force that the fluid in a resting state exerts on the walls and obeys two principles:

Pascal's principle

Pascal's principle described by Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) notes that the pressure of static fluids is exerted in all directions, such as the pressure that fluids exert on a fetus or on an airbag .

Archimedes' principle

The Italian Archimedean principle (287 BC - 212 BC) describes the hydrostatic thrust that occurs when the pressure in a fluid increases with depth, that is, when an object is immersed in a fluid, it experiences an equivalent vertical and upward pressure the fluid it cleared by taking up space bringing the object to buoyancy.
